Stella is currently Science Leader for Allergy and Immunology in Unilever’s Safety and Environmental Assurance Centre and has over 20 years’ experience working in academia and industry. Stella is responsible for providing scientific expertise and guidance, primarily in risk assessment and risk management of materials with the potential to affect the human immune system. Stella also leads a project developing new capability in non-animal human-focused approaches to risk assessment of materials with immunomodulatory potential, which includes research into understanding the mechanisms involved in allergic sensitisation.
Dr. Cochrane's appointment as a member of the COT expires on 31st March 2025.
