Bio

Maged Younes holds an MSc and a PhD in Biochemistry and Physiological Chemistry from the University of Tübingen, and a DSc in Toxicology and Biochemical Pharmacology from the Medical University of Lübeck, both Germany.  Since his retirement as Director, Food Safety and Zoonoses at WHO in 2013, he has maintained his scientific activities as Independent International Expert. Among others, he is currently Chair of the Food Additives and Nutrient Supplements Panel (ANS) of the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA).

Professor Younes's appointment as a member of the COT expires on 31st March 2025.
