Dr Samantha Donnellan

Dr Donnellan is a lecturer of Biomedical Sciences at Edinburgh Napier University.

Samantha has previously worked in drug discovery and infectious disease research at The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine as a post-doctoral research associate.

Her research interests lie in intracellular pathogens which cause human disease and finding new or repurposed compounds to treat these infections, with a particular focus on Tuberculosis drug discovery.

Samantha’s PhD developed a novel screening assay for mycobacterial infections suitable for screening nano-formulations of novel drugs to combat this infection.  

Samantha is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust. Samantha is also a Member of Microbiology Society.
