Dr Bryony Ross

Bio

Dr Bryony Ross is a European and UK Registered Toxicologist, currently working as Principal Toxicologist & Team Leader for Human Safety within the Blue Frog Scientific Group of Companies.

With almost 20 years’ experience in toxicology and regulatory affairs, her areas of expertise are chemical hazard assessment, reproductive and developmental toxicology, endocrine disruption and nanotoxicology. Bryony is passionate about developing intelligent approaches for the testing and assessment of hazards, sound scientific communication & animal welfare / the 3Rs principles.

Bryony’s prior experience spans research, strategic consultancy, and academic settings, predominantly on nanotechnologies and chemical safety; her PhD research focussed on male reproductive nanotoxicology. She has contributed to numerous systematic reviews and horizon scanning activities and worked regularly within multidisciplinary multinational project teams on UK/EU funded projects, as well as directly with Regulators, Government, OECD and standardisation bodies.

Today, Bryony focuses on aiding clients with strategy development, monitoring of complex or bespoke studies, building regulatory dossiers and supporting advocacy activities with regulatory authorities. She is also a visiting fellow in toxicology at Edinburgh Napier University, sits on the British Toxicology Society’s Executive Committee and is an active member of its Public Communications Steering Team and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group. 

Dr Ross's appointment as a member of the COT expires on 31st March 2028.
