Dr Andreas Kolb is a Senior Research Fellow at the Rowett Institute, University of Aberdeen. He studies the effects of fungal toxins and plant metabolites in the gut with a focus on the role of the microbiome and bile acids as mediators of toxic effects and health benefits. He develops cell-based bioassays as a means to detect multiple toxin congeners in food and environmental samples. In addition, he studies the effects of nutrition in perinatal life on long term metabolic health outcomes.
Dr Kolb's appointment as a member of the COT expires on 28th February 2027.
