Bio

Prof. Thorhallur I. Halldorsson is a professor at the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Iceland.  He also holds an external position as senior scientist at the Department of Epidemiology Research, Statens Serum Institut, Copenhagen. His main research activities are within nutritional and environmental epidemiology covering both observational studies and human interventions. In terms of international engagements Thorhallur is a member of the committee revising the 2022 Nordic Nutrition recommendations und the Nordic Council of ministers and he has since 2015 been a member of the European Food Safety Authority Scientific Committee.
