Committee on Toxicity (COT)
The Committee on Toxicity of Chemicals in Food, Consumer Products and the Environment (COT) is an independent scientific committee that provides advice to the Food Standards Agency, the Department of Health and other Government Departments and Agencies on matters concerning the toxicity of chemicals.

New members for the Committee on Toxicity of Chemicals in Food, Consumer Products and the Environment (COT)
FSA Chair Lord Jeff Rooker and the Chief Medical Officer, Professor Dame Sally Davies have appointed two new members to the COT.
Dr Caroline Harris and Dr René Crevel are appointed to the COT with effect from 1 April 2013 for a period of three years.
The FSA is grateful to the departing members, Professor Justin Konje and Dr Rebecca Dearman who left the COT on 31 March 2013 for the commitment and valuable advice they have given.
