COT statement on the results of a survey for PCDDs, PCDFs and PCBs in Marine Fish and Fish Products
The COT considered data on the results of a survey on the concentrations of PCDDs, PCDFs and PCBs in Marine Fish and Fish Products.
It welcomed the evidence that the average UK consumer of marine fish will not exceed either the current UK TDI or the recently-recommended WHO TDI. It recommended that consumers should adhere to advice to eat one portion of oily fish each week, as this would confer health benefits without the majority of individuals exceeding the TDI.
