4. Potential future discussion items – horizon scanning. COT members have agreed that it would be useful to have an annual agenda item to discuss potential future topics. This paper lists ongoing and planned topics of discussion and invites members to give their opinions on emerging toxicological issues that may be of relevance to public health or to Committee working procedures, which could be included in the Committee’s programme of work in 2015. 5. Second draft statement on the potential risks from hexabromocyclododecanes (HBCDDs) in the infant diet. This draft COT statement summarises the available information and the Committee’s provisional conclusions.  TOX/2015/02

6. Second draft statement on the effects of soya consumption on thyroid status. This draft COT statement summarises the available information and the Committee’s provisional conclusions. TOX/2015/03

7. Consultation of the European Food Safety Authority on a Draft Scientific Opinion on the safety of caffeine. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) issued a Draft Scientific Opinion on the safety of caffeine for public consultation on 15 January 2015. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is inviting the COT to submit a response to the consultation. TOX/2015/04

8. Draft manuscript on developmental toxicity and the uncertainty factor for interspecies extrapolation. The COT considered papers on this topic at its December 2013 and May 2014 meetings and agreed that a paper should be written for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. This paper includes the draft manuscript and comments from a peer reviewer, and seeks the COT’s advice on how to proceed. TOX/2015/05

9. Second draft statement on polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) in the infant diet. This draft COT statement summarises the available information and the Committee’s provisional conclusions. TOX/2015/06

10. Draft 2014 COT Annual Report. COT section of the 2014 Annual report for the Committees on Toxicity, Mutagenicity and Carcinogenicity. Members are invited to agree the text and also to consider how the COT has performed during 2014 against the Good Practice Guidelines for committees advising the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
