Professor Matthew Wright was appointed to the Committee on 1 April 2017. He is Professor of Toxicology at the Institute of Cellular Medicine, Newcastle University. His research interests are in liver injury, liver disease, environmental triggers for liver disease and developing in vitro liver models for toxicity studies. He has been an expert on the European Food Safety Authority’s Additive and Nutrient Sources Panel since 2011.
