Professor Brian G. Lake BSc, PhD, DSc, FBTS

Professor Brian Lake was appointed to the COT on 1 April 2009. He is a Visiting Professor in the Centre for Toxicology, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Surrey. His specialist interests include xenobiotic metabolism, induction of xenobiotic metabolising enzymes, the development of in vitro systems for predicting xenobiotic metabolism and toxicity and modes of action of nongenotoxic carcinogens. Professor Lake is a member of the Society of Toxicology, the British Toxicology Society and of the editorial boards of Food and Chemical Toxicology and Xenobiotica. He has published over 225 research papers, review articles and book chapters.

Professor Lake’s appointment as a member of the Committee will expire on 31 March 2019.
