Meeting summary

Joint meeting of the COT/COC/COM to discuss the use of genomics and proteomics in risk assessment.

Members of the three Committees, other independent advisory committees, independent scientists and interested stakeholders were among the 90 delegates who attended the open meeting on 8 October in Skipton House to discuss the use of proteomics and genomics in risk assessment. The meeting gave delegates the opportunity to hear presentations from leading authorities in the UK on these topics and for delegates to participate in a selection of working groups.

A full write up is currently being drafted for publication in a peer review journal. Conclusions reached at the meeting, and in particular on the significance of these new technologies for toxicological risk assessment will also be published on the Committees' websites.
